The Re Sale Hotel Boutique has reserved a special offer for you, allowing you to stay in the heart of Trapani's historic centre without missing out on the most beautiful attractions in the surrounding area, such as the Saline di Trapani.
By booking by 31st July your stay for a minimum of three nights in our comfortable, traditional and modern rooms, you can discover the wonderful Trapani Salt Pans with a wonderful excursion by e-Bike, the pedal-assisted bicycle.
The Trapani Salt Pans are one of the most suggestive and popular destinations. They have been present in the Sicilian territory for centuries and their 1,000-hectare area stretches from Trapani to Marsala, including the Marsala Stagnone Reserve with its small islands. Since 1995, it has become the Trapani and Paceco Salt Pans Nature Reserve, managed and supervised by the WWF.
The WWF decided to take charge of this reserve because it is one of the few places in the world where, due to a question of climate and the sapidity of the water, the perfect habitat for flamingos is recreated, finding in our salt marshes the algae that give them that famous pink colour.
Trapani Saline's history is full of pitfalls and changes: around the 12th century, a state monopoly on salt production was imposed, later it was privatised by the Aragonese, and finally, thanks to the Spanish, Trapani became Europe's most important centre for salt production.
A history that you can also discover by visiting the Salt Museum inside an old windmill in Paceco, where you can admire the mills and all the equipment that was once used to extract salt, with ruzzoli, mill blades, the spira, a large millstone and the wooden laths used to measure the salt.
You can admire one of the most beautiful sunsets between a salt marsh and a windmill. An indescribable emotion.
This package will let you discover the most evocative beauty of Sicily, while remaining in close contact with nature, which will surround you at all times.
